The definition of Insanity:
DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS!
It's like wearing your hairstyle from the eighties now and still expecting to turn heads. It's like Macdonald's not evolving after 'Super Size ME' and expecting to retain market share.
The point is it's not how large or how established your business is, it's how swiftly you adapt. You need to ask yourself, what has changed in my industry? Are the current methods of marketing I utilise relevant, and am I getting the results I need?
Most businesses start out with strategically planned and sound tools (websites, direct mail, flyers, brochures etc). Whilst these are tried and tested marketing tactics, you should only continue to use the tools if you can see results over time.
Customers have become more savvy at shopping around, using the Internet, and traveling for their good's. Realistically their demands have changed. Does the marketing of your business address those demands?
If the results dry up, try new ideas or applications. Keep an eye on the changes your competitors have applied and measure them up against your own business.
You need to become a chameleon in today's business place to affirm your stakehold. You have to change to make change happen for you.
Eighties hairstyles are out, Macca's has moved on and crazy is definitely not the new sane.
